Walt Disney World Dinner Shows
Dinner shows are a popular attraction in most major tourist areas, and Orlando is no exception. Here are some options for dinner shows at and near the Walt Disney World resort that your whole family will enjoy.
Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue: The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue has been delighting families at Disney World since 1974.. It’s held nightly in Pioneer Hall at the Fort Wilderness Campground, with songs, dance, and rollicking fun. There are two or three show times each evening, depending on the season. Make your reservations online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.
The food is all you can eat, with never ending servings of fried chicken, ribs, baked beans, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. It might be a challenge, but save room for strawberry shortcake to top it all off. The price includes non-alcoholic beverages and free-flowing wine and beer for Mom and Dad.
The show is packed with corny humor of the kind that kids love. Youngsters also like the fact that they’re not just expected to sit and watch once dinner is done. They join the show playing washboards as part of an energetic musical number. Some kids (and adults) even get to join the Pioneer Hall Players on stage to act out a play about Davy Crockett.

Medieval Times
Kids love brave knights, heroic battles, and majestic steeds, and Medieval Times, on east Highway 192, offers all that and more. Be prepared to eat with your hands, just as they did in days of old. Sip your tomato bisque soup from the bowl and enjoy a royal feast of chicken, ribs, potatoes, and pastry while you cheer for your section’s knight. The gallant knights joust, do trick riding, and battle with swords, maces, and other weapons. Think those weapons aren’t real? You’ll think again when you hear the clangs and see the sparks. The show transforms into an epic battle of good and evil, and since this is Orlando, you’re assured of a happy ending.
Outta Control Magic Show
This show is on International Drive, in the WonderWorks building, not far from the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Orlando Convention Center. It pairs a family-friendly feast of pizza, salad, and dessert with a side-splitting comedy magic show that both kids and adults will thoroughly enjoy. While some of the jokes have adult overtones, there’s nothing inappropriate for little ears. This show uses lots of audience participation from both adults and kids, and it will leave you scratching your head wondering, “How did he do that?” Get there early, as seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. While the odds of being in the show are slightly higher if you’re in the front, participants get grabbed from everywhere in the audience.
Capone’s Dinner & Show
Ready for some time travel? When you visit Capones, which is east of the Holiday Inn Maingate East hotel, your family will instantly be whisked back in time to the Prohibition era, when gangsters ran the speakeasies and Al Capone ran Chicago. The fun starts as soon as you arrive and give the secret password at the speakeasy door. Step up to the expansive Italian buffet, which has kid pleasers like pizza, chicken nuggets, and tater tots, too. The adults get all-you-can-drink wine, beer, Cape Cods, and rum runners, in addition to a selection of non-alcoholic beverages for everyone. There’s a zany cast of characters, with humor aimed at both adults and kids. Beware, as you might become part of the show.
